Political Career and life story Amjad Farooq Khosa

He was elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly by Constituent Assembly PP 187 (Dera Ghazi Khan) in the 1985 Pakistan General Election.

He was re-elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly as an Islamic Democratic Alliance (IJI) candidate from the PP-200 constituency (Dera Ghazi Khan-II) in the 1988 Pakistani general election. He secured 16,118 votes and defeated Sardar Salahuddin Khan Khosa, candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as an IJI candidate from Constituent Assembly NA-132 (Dera Ghazi Khan) in the 1990 Pakistani general election. He secured 78,360 votes and defeated Pakistan Democratic Alliance (PDA) candidate Khawaja Kamaluddin Anwar .

He ran for a seat in the National Assembly in the 1993 Pakistan general election as a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) from the NA-132 Constituent (Dera Ghazi Khan) but was unsuccessful. He got 65,002 votes and lost the seat to PPP candidate Khawaja Kamaluddin Anwar.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly in the 1997 Pakistan general election as the PML-N candidate from the NA-132 Constituent Assembly (Dera Ghazi Khan). He secured 73,302 votes and defeated independent candidate Sardar Mansoor Ahmad Khan.

He ran for a seat in the National Assembly in the 2002 Pakistani general election from the NA-171 Constituent (DGKhan-I) as the Muslim League (N) candidate, but was unsuccessful. [6] He secured 49,302 votes and lost the seat to Khawaja Shiraz Mehmood.

He ran for a seat in the National Assembly as an independent candidate from the NA-171 constituency (DGKhan-I) in the 2008 Pakistani general election, but was unsuccessful. [8] He secured 36,400 votes and lost the seat to Khawaja Shiraz Mehmood. In the same election, he was re-elected to the Punjab Provincial Assembly as an Independent Constituent Candidate PP-242 (Dera Ghazi Khan-III). He secured 18,968 votes and defeated Javed Akhtar.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly in the 2013 Pakistan General Election as the PML-N candidate from the NA-171 Constituency (DGKhan-I). He secured 62,849 votes and defeated Khawaja Shiraz Mehmood.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as an independent candidate from the NA-190 constituency (Dera Ghazi Khan-II) in the 2018 Pakistani general election. After his successful election, he announced that he would join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in August 2018.
